Brighter mornings and evenings, warm breezes, the wet smell of the earth...what's not to love about spring as it rounds the corner into summer? The Great Outdoors seems to reinvent itself with refreshing energy this season, inspiring us to lighten up inside our homes, too.
We chatted with Allison Bloom of Dehn Bloom Design to hear her creative ideas for bringing spring's natural vibrancy indoors. Here are her five easy redecorating tips to get us started...

Bring on the branches. Pass up the small (though lovely) blossoms and head for the the giant blooming branches, which are a little more unexpected. You can score three- to five-foot cherry, forsythia or plum branches at local flower markets. A dining table or an entryway filled with lush boughs makes it feel like the season has come inside in full force.

Make a beautiful corner. Spring cleaning and Goodwill purging make room for  new art! Try creating a small and surprising bit of beauty in the kitchen, where you can appreciate it all the time. Take a favorite piece of art and move it onto the top of a shelf or a counter, then mix it with a pretty rock or branch.

Replace heavy bedding with white duvet covers. Even if it's not warm enough to ditch the heavy blankets quite yet, throw a white duvet cover on top, and the whole bedroom immediately feels fresh and bright.

Swap out hefty pillows for those with sunny bright prints. Trade wintry faux fur and velvet pillows for linen prints with bright colors. Think pink and orange, flowery prints, and stripes with a happy vibe.

Clean off your desk completely, and only put back what is inspiring. It's easier said than done, but this makes a huge difference. Limit yourself to one great photo, a piece of art, a candle and flowers. The payoff is in the extra room to spread out your work and get creative!
